John holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania

Since you already have a Ph.D., why did you choose to return to school to get your MBA?

I chose to return to school for my MBA because I want to make a transition from the technical side to the management side of business. The reason for choosing a full-time program instead of an executive program is because a full-time program allows me to explore more options and maximize the learning experience.

How do you feel a Rady MBA will affect your career?

A Rady MBA helps open doors to opportunities that were not previously available to me.

Why did you choose the Rady School?

I chose the Rady School because of its focus on innovation and emphasis on life sciences.

As someone who worked in Taiwan, what do you feel is the advantage to obtaining your MBA in the U.S.?

A U.S. MBA provides better business perspectives on a global level.

Is there anything else you would like to share about the Rady School or your career goals?

The support from the local business community is great. Internships and independent studies allow students to explore various career options without necessarily having a great deal of prior experience in that particular industry. It is great for people who want to make career transitions.
